SKT-FAN은 선수가 센서를 부착하지 않더라도 경기 영상만으로 선수의 관절 포인트를 추적하는 ‘비센서 AI 장면 포착(motion capture)’ 기술을 적용했다. 영상만 있다면 선수의 움직임과 특징을 데이터베이스(DB)화할 수 있다. 저장된 선수별 데이터는 AI 대규모 언어 모델(LLM)에 결합해 전력 분석 리포트로 만든다. 이날 충북 진천 국가대표선수촌에서 만난 원우영 펜싱 사브르 국가대표팀 코치는 같은 장면을 먼저 보고 “오상욱이 첫 공격에 실패하고 도경동은 반격해야 할 때 스텝이 느려지고 공격을 주저했다”며 “과감하게 런지 동작도 하고 빠른 스텝이 필요했는데 실수한 것”이라고 설명했다. 이후 자신의 해설과 비슷한 내용의 AI 보고서를 보자 “제가 없어도 되겠는데요?”라며 웃었다.                    펜싱 에페 여자 국가대표팀 선수들과 함재만 코치가 인공지능(AI) 전력 분석 시스템 SKT-FAN을 활용하는 모습. 사진 SK텔레콤 펜싱 에페 대표팀의 송세라는 이날 SKT가 개최한 출정식에서 “분석하고 싶은 상대 이름을 입력하면 바로 보고서가 나오더라”라며 “펜싱엔 빠른 동작이 많다 보니 (육안으론) 잘 알아채지 못하는 부분이 많은데, 상대의 장단점을 세밀하게 파악할 수 있었다”고 말했다. 펜싱 간판스타 오상욱도 “훈련에서 분석 시간을 많이 절약할 수 있어 좋았다”고 했다. AI 분석 도입은 전력 분석에도 보탬이 될 전망이다. 펜싱 대회는 예선과 본선 토너먼트 등 경기 수가 많아 전력분석관이 모든 상대를 분석하기 어렵다. 경기가 끝나면 전체 영상을 하나씩 편집해 자료를 만드는 작업이 필수인데, SKT-FAN으로 한 경기당 1시간 정도 걸리던 업무를 10분 수준으로 줄였다. 시스템을 개발한 최종혁 SKT 스포츠마케팅팀 매니저는 “지금까진 주요 선수 위주로 분석을 했다면, 이제는 유망주까지 더 많은 선수를 분석할 수 있을 것”이라고 강조했다. AI가 1차 분석을 맡아주면 국가대표팀 전력분석관과 지도자는 경기 흐름 전반의 큰 그림을 보고 전략적 판단에 집중할 수 있다는 장점도 있다. SKT는 2028년 로스앤젤레스(LA) 올림픽 때까지 ‘경기 후 복기’ 위주의 현 전력 분석 체계를 ‘대회 중 실시간’ 중심으로 바꿀 수 있도록 기술을 고도화할 계획이다.。
